Y Trydydd Peth
I was asked to illustrate a book cover for a novel called "Y Trydydd Peth", which won the author Sian Melangell Dafydd the Literary Medal at the 2009 National Eisteddfod.
The National Eisteddfod is of massive cultural significance in Wales and award ceremony seems to have been an amazing Welsh magic/medevil theme, with Sian looking a little nervous, understandably.
"Y Trydydd Peth" is about George Owens, a 90 year old man, who is pondering about the elements of water.
Therefore fish and fishing were a key part of the theme for the book cover.
