The House

Inshriach House was built in 1906 by the Blacks (of the Glasgow publishing family) as a shooting lodge.

The house is an informal family home but retains much of its Edwardian atmosphere with dark panelling, open fires, quirky period furniture and a big farmhouse kitchen. You may find yourself sleeping in Mrs. Black’s room, Mr. George’s room, the French maid’s or even the ‘poor’ room. The Black family have long since gone as have, unfortunately, the servants.

Downstairs there are two drawing rooms and a library opening off a galleried hall with a dining table to seat 20. There is a formal dining room seating 12 and a sunroom for the summer. Upstairs there are beds for 17 (5 doubles, 2 twins, 3 singles) and the house has its 3 original Edwardian bathrooms (one with a shower). 7 of the bedrooms have basins.

Outside there is a gas barbeque and a spit roasting pit, a table tennis table in the garage, a trout loch and a 1930s squash court with a viewing gallery.
